Pitch Black, But Corrie's Back!

Nothing is more important to your cycling than MOTIVATION! Cyclo-CLUB provides tons of workouts and training plans to maximize your fitness. But, more importantly, we are a community of cyclists supporting one another as we strive for our best!
Corrie Linton, host of CLUB blog Vertically Challenged, is delving into darkness. Winter's coming on the windswept Canadian plains that Corrie calls home and it'd be easy to fire up the heat, cook up a big pot of stew, crack open some Molsons, and belly up to some televised hockey (sorry for the stereotype there, Corrie!) Instead, Corrie's most recent post is a testament to everyday perseverance.
From Vertically Challenged:
Well last week's attempt at riding didn't work out so well. I ended up working late on Saturday. Sunday it was still unseasonably warm so i suited up, I was just checking the air pressure on my tires when my parents drove up in the driveway. Oh well it was fun putting my kit on anyways.
Monday...amazing weather it was 16c on November 3rd. Best birthday present ever, I ran away from work a little early. BibShorts, longsleeve jersey and windshell. Thats amazing for this time of year.
It was windy as hell(40-60km gusts) and getting dark but I was doing it damn it. The second song on my Ipod was Stereo Mc's---Never Let Up. How suitable.
All in all it was a great ride, an hour of good tunes and nice temps. Pitch black on my return loop. I have a blinky light on the rear but I did not have a headlamp. The last 5km was a little sketchy, it's hard packed gravel road with some washboard. It was kinda cool though, I rode light and floaty. Not a lot of pressure on the bars. It was like riding by braille. I could see the shape of the road but not the texture or bumps.
Overall it was fantastic to get back out there. My only issue was the drivers on the back roads that felt it was necessary to highbeam me. I'm still seeing spots. God I love cycling!!!!!!!!!!! Photo via flickr by i am indisposed
