The Everyday Cyclist Challenge Rules and Member Guidelines

"Calling all Everyday Cyclists and Cyclo-CLUB Members! We want you motivated to take your cycling and fitness to the next level with an Everyday Cyclist Challenge you can achieve in as little as 30 days!"

Cyclo-CLUB membership is giving you the opportunity to take your membership to the next level. Identify a goal, document your process in striving to acheive it, and be eligible for great prizes along the way! We'll reward standout participants with custom CLUB workout wear. Monthly GRAND PRIZE winners will receive high-end cycling gear (grand prizes will vary, details coming soon, retail value $500 to $1000!).  

Even if you don't win, we're hoping that you're inspired to follow through with your training, improve your fitness, and really delve deeper into what the CLUB offers. Don't get me wrong - the prizes are GREAT. But if you set a goal and stick to it, it's a no-lose situation.

Individual goals can involve anything under the cycling sun. Weight loss, completing an epic ride, winning town sign sprints on your group ride, juggling training with a busy work schedule, or winning the world championships. As long as the goal encourages you to reach to new heights and improve yourself, we're happy.

Judging of member blogs and subsequent awards will be based on the following criteria: is the member pushing to reach new goals, whatever they may be?; the thoughtfulness and thoroughness of the plan to acheive the goal; and the quality of the blog entries, stories, and information - we want cool stories to inspire us and to share with other members!

Of course we hope that you all live up to your dreams. But whether you reach your goals or not, if you put in an earnest effort and document the experience in an honest, compelling fashion, you're definitely in the running for cool prizes. Some of life's best lessons come from falling short - we hope you'll share these stories with us as well!

Rules and Regulations for the Everyday Cyclist Challenge (ECC):

  1. Only Cyclo-CLUB members may participate.

  2. Create your own blog. This can be in Wordpress, Blogger, or any other site that's available to the public. The CLUB will provide you with an Everday Cyclist Challenge badge to be displayed on your blog site. Already running a blog? If you prefer, you can compete in the Everyday Cyclist Challenge on your existing blog.

  3. State, on your blog, a Definitive Goal that's at least 30 days in length. Longer term goals are great too. Pick something to motivate you through the winter or even a season-long meta-goal. The goal can be anything cyling- and CLUB-related that you like! A target event, a result, weight loss, out-sprinting your riding buddies, beating your record on a training hill, etc.

  4. Once your blog is up and running, email us about it so we can monitor your progress.

  5. Use some CLUB resources to achieve your goal. What training plans, workouts, tips, BOOTCAMPS, etc. are you relying on?

  6. Document your experience with compelling content in your blog. How did you use the CLUB or other sources to achieve your mission? Tell us about the experience, both ups and downs!

  7. Have a cool post along the way to your goal? Let us know, we'd love to hear about it!

  8. Cyclo-CLUB may choose to publish portions of participants' blog entries on the CLUB website. Our goal is to motivate our members, create energy and a buzz around the Challenge, inspire one another, and for us all to HAVE FUN while REACHING GOALS!

  9. CLUB administrators have final say on winners and prize recipients.
