7 DAY FAT-LOSS BOOTCAMP FORUM QUESTION?Posted by

Following the 7 day boot camp... Going well so far. I kinda swapped day 1 & 2 exercise-wise but followed the food templates. First time following the 7 day fat loss plan. There is no mention of drinks all throughout the fuel program. I'm a coffee drinker. Is my morning 2 cups of coffee OK? What about a glass of OJ w/ breakfast? or Apple Juice? Diet soda w/ lunch or dinner on occasion? Glass of milk? I know calories, sugar, and carbs from drinks can add up quickly. Just wondering what the protocol is?
Thanks
Joe

My suggestions for Fat-Loss & Cyclo-FUEL
1. If already a coffee drinker, drink up, BUT keep in mind that with removal of sugars and carbs during the 7 day camp, that you may get a different reaction to the caffeine. It can cause your blood sugars to crash, so you may want to cut down the coffee. It will be different for everyone. I will still have my coffee during the 7 day fat-loss, but only one cup and I like it near the workout for the stimulus it gives.

2. Juice is OUT during the entire 7 days. Not because I think it's bad, but because it's a HUGE SUGAR LOAD and therefor a BIG INSULIN SPIKE. Not what we want at all during this phase. If I didn't put it in the template, then I didn't want it there. Yes, boring, but it's only 7 days and you need to stay focused on the goal. You have to keep in mind with the 7 day fat-Loss Bootcamp that training your body to control insulin and retrain it to keep our glycogen loaded without "spilling over" is key! High sugar consumption, especially in relation to fat-loss is NO GOOD! Even with perceivably healthy things like juice...ALL SUGAR!
3. Milk is OUT, most if not all of the time except with cereal, which is pretty much out for the 7 days anyway, except for maybe the booster meal. Lactose and body-fat...they don't get along. Soy milk?? You can use it I guess. I don't, but I know many that do. My suggestion is to keep it to a minimum only during the 7 days.
4. Diet Soda. Your call here as there are no 'calories' coming in with it, BUT the sweeteners have other ramifications (that I won't get into) that I believe impede on the point of the 7 day fat loss plan.
Remember, this plan and 7 Day Bootcamp is not just about dropping body-fat; in fact I'm looking for that to be a side effect! SIDE EFFECT!
What is the REAL PURPOSE of the 7 Day Fat-Loss Bootcamp?
1. Reset your metabolism and break the habit of sugar reliance for most people as well as stimulate the body-fat reduction process that for most, is virtually SHUT DOWN! I want to ignite it and this is the exercise, nutrition, and support system to do it.
2. Condition and train the body to deplete, replenish, and utilize glycogen and body-fat. Basically having to re-teach your body to use what it has. I need to recondition the metabolism and this is a fast, doable and effective way for most people. Cyclist or otherwise. I was using these tactics with customers well before Cyclo-CORE/FUEL/CLUB. Now I have proven their effectiveness with tens of thousands of people using Cyclo-FUEL. The BOOTCAMP simply takes it to the next level.
3. Catharsis! This is really more of a cleansing phase of nutrition and exercise than fat loss, the loss of fat is simply a side effect of junk removal. Clean out the junk and make room for the new stuff coming in week 2 and beyond.
4. A FITNESS SURGE. By the end of the 7 days, Your fitness will be surged and your metabolism prepped for the next step to continue to drop fat. YOU will be exhausted, which is why I need rest for you for a few days before continuing on to my recommendations. Again, the 7 days is an ACCELERATION of exact training, nutrition, and motivation. Then the results REALLY COME as you move forward!
Remember, this 7 day bootcamp is a BOOSTER ROCKET to get your 'stage rocket ship into space', then we hit rocket two, three, and four and continue on autopilot. Get it?
NOTE: The Cyclo-FUEL Nutrition Plan can be purchased seperately as a member or non-member. Members get 20%OFF the program and FUEL will be used in ALL CLUB Bootcamps as the nutrition templates. Not included in membership. You DO NOT have to use the nutrition plan, however if you want the results, it sure helps!
This is must have info and I know lots will want to see my answers. GOOD. It's the little things and understanding of how this works that makes it work!
Hope this helps my friend. Seems everyone is really coming together!;)
Cyclists working with other cyclists (and me) to move forward together. I love it.
Makes my vision for the CLUB start coming to reality.

Fat-Loss Comments from Customers and Members...I'm Peggy Muncy from Arkansas and I'm the one who was writing you a few months ago about riding cross country in May. Well, the time is upon me...I leave tomorrow and we (Crossroads Cycling Adventures) begin our trek on Mother's Day from LA. Thanks for all your tips and helpful info. I did the 7-day fat loss program and it helped me break through the barrier from 135 to around 131 which I've been able to maintain without any effort really.--Peggy Muncy
On my off week from racing the Root66 series I did a VO2 Max test. The test was performed by Joey Adams of Intelligent Fitness. The bottom line is, I am spot on with my training. He was very impressed with my progress and my training program. The slight change that was recommended was for me to add more z1/z2 training time, while limiting the hard z4/z5 efforts to specific workouts. This is more of a self discipline issue for me than a change in the MTB/Transition program that I am following from the Cyclo-CLUB. I just plain love to hammer and apparently I have a high pain threshold, which was evident in my rating of precieved effort. During the test I was indicating 2 and 3 when I should have been showing 4-5 (on a scale of 0-5). Seeing that this is my 3rd season of training, 2nd racing, I am still a "young athlete". So I need to be more diligent with building my aerobic base.
Like I said, the bottom line is Cyclo-Core/CLUB is helping me get fast! Not to mention having helped me drop over 40 pounds.
Thanks again. Talk to you soon.

"I wanted to thank you for deciding to start this bootcamp in the club. I have been using your fuel program with some success, but never knew how to best set up the training. In just three days I can already tell a noticeable difference and my motivation is climbing. Thank you for all you do. "--Bill H.
